Rules and Guidelines:

  1. Eligibility:
    • The LinesfromAfrica Short Story competition is open to writers of African descent, regardless of their current place of residence.
    • Participants must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Theme/Genre:
    • There is an open theme, allowing participants to explore any subject or genre.
    • Stories should reflect the diverse African experience, culture, or perspectives.
  3. Word Count:
    • The maximum word count for submissions for the LinesfromAfrica short Story competition is 2500 words. Entries exceeding this limit will be disqualified.
  4. Submission Format:
    • All entries must be typed and formatted in a legible font (e.g., Times New Roman, Arial) with a font size of 12 points.
    • Entries should be double-spaced, and each page must be numbered.
  5. Language:
    • Submissions must be written in English.
  6. Originality:
    • Entries must be original works and should not have been previously published, including online platforms, blogs, or print publications.
    • Plagiarized entries will be automatically disqualified.
  7. Deadline:

  8. Entry Fee:
